Floyd Patterson was a real champion and a gentleman in the ring and outside!! We are glad here in Sweden that he went to us to live here after his great cariere as a Champ!😊

I liked Patterson. He seems winded here. Can’t be from throwing too many punches. I suspect his bouncing around the ring is what did it.

Floyd beat Oscar. That was a golden victory for a comeback fighter. The native New Yorker lasted a long time. Floyd did just fine in spite of losses. He is missed.

Yes, they do move better than today's heavies, but you have to remember, they weight about 50 lbs. on average less than today's heavyweights. It's literally a different weight class now that it was then with a few exceptions.

London did a great job going those rounds with Patterson. Being a Brit, I think it’s fair to say that the Brits in those days were not trained technically as well as the Americans. But obviously that has totally changed these days. We now have Sugar Hill training Tyson Fury. Fury beating Wilder three times.Yes ok the first fight was a travesty. Fury won that fight despite being knocked out. But he made up for that in the next two. But all credit to Brian London. In the late sixties London had a fight, and there was a riot in the ring. London head butted someone who tried to get in the ring. It was a masterclass in how to head butt. But Floyd was a gentleman, and a great Champ. His words about Brian London were the words of a great Boxer. But then he met Sonny Liston. I honestly think Floyd was afraid of Liston! And Who (Apart from Muhammad Ali ) wouldn’t have been afraid of him. Over the years many people have suggested the fight between Muhammad and Liston was a fix. Nah, Liston knew he had met a guy that wasn’t afraid of him. Liston was old! Muhammad was a fit strong young brash well trained guy who got into Liston’s head.God bless Floyd Patterson,God bless Brian London.God Bless Muhammad Ali.

Regarding Liston's age... He was one of 25 kids. His father left early in Sonny's life. You honestly think getting a full, accurate census count in rural south in 1930 or 1940 was easy?

Any man who has the brass balls to go toe to toe with Sonny Liston has my respect. Knowing the frightening power of his punches. That at any time a left jab could fracture their skulls or put them in a coma. As one hapless opponent said. Every time he hit me he broke something

I didn't score it, but Patterson clearly lost the last two rounds, so he'd have to have one 6 of the other 8. Well, he certainly didn't win the round he got knocked down twice, so 6 of 7. It didn't happen that way. Quarry killed him with body shots, Patterson wilted and lost most of the fight after he landed those wicked body shots. Patterson killed Quarry when Quarry would try to pull out. But, he never adjusted to that. I could easily see a draw, Patterson did well in the middle rounds. But, no way Patterson won 6 rounds. He didn't do much of anything the last two rounds, which was a mistake. I suspect Quarry's body shots were partially responsible for that, because he was way more energetic up to that point. Great fight either way. Very evenly matched, with both having momentum at different parts of the fight. Current heavyweights never give us fights so well fought.

They introduced Joe Frazier as the "1968 Olympic Champion", but that's not correct.. Frazier won the Olympics in 1964. & He won the Professional Vacant Heavyweight Title in 1968

Sad and disgraceful that this match was only 10 rounds😤😤😡😡 peak prime quarry would become famous for his horrible stamina.. 12 and 15 rounds as it should have been, would have had prime quarry lost horrible clear to a past prime patterson. Most likely quarry even gotten kod or tkod by the much older patterson
